About the Artist

About the artist

Mihael studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade and at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he attended the classes of professors Vladimir Veličković and Marina Abramović, among others. He was named Laureate of the Fondation Renoir, working and living in Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s former atelier.

His practice encompasses a wide range of disciplines, from painting, drawing, photography, and video to installation. By decontextualizing everyday objects, symbols, and situations, Milunović provokes a subtle sense of unease in the viewer, a blend of alienation and curiosity.

Milunović has participated in numerous exhibitions across Europe. His works are included in prestigious museum collections such as MUMOK – Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation Vienna; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade; Colección SOLO, Madrid; Deji Art Museum, Nanjing; the Moët & Chandon / LVMH Collection, France; the National Gallery of Bulgaria; Palazzo Forti, Verona; and the Musée d’Art et d’Industrie, Saint-Étienne, among others.

Mihael Milunović has presented over 50 solo exhibitions worldwide, including five museum solo shows, and has participated in 84 group exhibitions, among them 23 museum group exhibitions.

He lives and works between Paris and Belgrade.
